| Congratulations on
your new bonsai
Practised
for centuries in China and Japan, bonsai is the reproduction of natural tree forms
in miniature. Bonsai trees are living miniature trees which increase in beauty
and value as they mature over the years. How to care for your new Bonsai
Bonsai are not indoor plants. Two or three days per week indoors will not harm
your Bonsai. When outdoors in Summer months shelter from strong winds and hot
sun. |
| Do
keep your Bonsai away from animals when outdoors.
| Do
keep soil in the pot moist at all times.
| Do
keep your Bonsai away from heat reflecting walls and objects (eg. the top of TV
sets). | | | Do
ensure your Bonsai has maximum available light when indoors. |
| | Do
fertilise your Bonsai with an all-purpose fertiliser at half the strength during
Spring and Autumn. | | | Do
spray the foliage clean of dust and water soil thoroughly on taking your Bonsai
outdoors. | | | A
bonsai in your home will always have everyone asking about your unique showpiece.
Just remember to have the bonsai outside in the sunlight for an equal amount of
time. | | | Do
prune and re-pot your Bonsai every 1-2 years. This includes trimming of branches
and selective root trimming. This is necessary to keep your tree healthy and in
proportion. This can be arranged through Bonsai Heaven.
