Affects Blue has in our lives >>

Just as Red has the power to 'switch you on' BLUE has the affect of switching you off. The colour Blue also affects the old reptilian part of the brain which in turn sends messages to the Pineal gland, the centre of the brain and the part of the brain which can send us into meditation or withdrawal.

BLUE affects the parasympathetic nervous system, decreasing blood pressure and creating a climate for rest and relaxation.

BLUE relates to the feminine side of our nature, the need to be loved, supported and emotionally involved with others.

BLUE looks outside of itself for support whereas RED wants to be the supporter or organiser.

BLUE is HETRONOMOUS - wants action to come from others - the world to come to you.

BLUE is concentric - it has an inward movement, which can enable you to 'go within'.

BLUE is the colour of yesterday.

BLUE is the colour which creates in others the need to care for you.

BLUE is popular with people who have a strong conscience, work hard, and like to be helpful to others.

BLUE relates to showing the need for satisfaction in life or contentment with life.

BLUE has more intensity when it is darker. When Blue becomes lighter it loses its intensity of emotion and gives more clarity of mind, becomes more masculine. The darker the Blue the more inward the emotion, the lighter the Blue the more outward the emotion. Extremely light Blue is working towards the heavens in a spiritual direction.

BLUE attunes the body to conservation and recuperation. Heart pressure and breathing rate go down when Blue is used as a healing tool. Blue gives gratification and appeasement.

BLUE creates distance. Wearing Blue, especially dark blue can make you look slimmer, whereas Red can make you look larger (and heavier).

BLUE affects that part of the brain which is responsible for sleeping and dreaming. Our breathing is also controlled by that part of the brain stem. If sleep is a problem, introduce Blue.

BLUE with added yellow adds an element of the mind to the colour, creating turquoise and teal. These colours are less emotional than Blue and have more to do with emotional self expression.

BLUE is the female principle YIN whereas RED is the male principle YANG.

BLUE creates the relaxed sensitivity which is the prerequisite for empathy.
