Affects Purple has in our lives >>

PURPLE is the colour of CREATIVITY. The final purpose of RED and BLUE is UNIFICATION. Red wants to achieve oneness by action. BLUE wants to achieve oneness by surrender (letting go).

PURPLE is the combinations of the Male/Red and the Female/Blue which is the basis of creation. Depending on the amount of Red or Blue in Purple the need for Emotions/Blue or Action/Red is shown.

PURPLE is the colour of power and religion. The word religion comes from religerie... to join together. In the past only royalty or religions had the right to use PURPLE. Egyptians used PURPLE for burial services to protect from evil spirits. This was then taken by the Romans, firstly for long life and then came to represent the colour of death. The death penalty was used for any person other than Royalty who wore Purple.

PURPLE and VIOLET represent the Crown Chakra, at the top of the head. This is the area of our bodies which connects with spirit. This is the colour connected with our spirit entering (birth) our bodies, and our spirit leaving our bodies (death), therefore VIOLET is a good colour to have around a person who is about to depart this life and it is also a good colour for a pregnant woman to wear to help life enter.

PURPLE also represents the drive for enduring order... to bring order out of chaos. Teenagers often need PURPLE as a means of getting it 'all together' so do people who have gone through life shattering situations such as divorce. PURPLE is often needed by divorced women to feel that their lives are being put back together again.

DIFFERENT PURPLES >>

BLUE/PURPLE : This PURPLE has more Blue (emotional need) than Red and therefore represents a need to control the life by creating order through and with the emotional needs.

RED/PURPLE : This PURPLE has more Red (action) and is preferred by people who are doing something with their creativity, usually in the public eye. This colour is favoured by actors showing creativity in action. It is also the colour of the Cardinal's robes. The colour of Red is given a feeling of distance by the remote Blue.

VIOLET : The colour of the CROWN chakra. This is the highest frequency on the visible level and represents 1,000 degrees of vibration as compared with the Red/Root chakra of 4. Love of this colour represents the desire to gain control over our chaos, uncertainty, and hazards of the universe. This is a Spiritual colour of knowing that there is something far beyond the physical in life.

MAGENTA : The colour of the TRANSPERSONAL point... our connection with universal energies, approx. 2 ft. above the head. This is a colour usually chosen by extremely creative people. This colour has now been integrated into our society as a fashion colour in order to raise our awareness.
