Affects Yellow has in our lives >>

Whilst Red and Blue affect our emotional needs, YELLOW is strictly of the MIND. All colours which hold Yellow within them have some connection with thought, will power, wisdom and intellect.

YELLOW once more connects with the sympathetic and the parasympathetic nervous system in the Solar Plexus chakra (stomach area above the waist). In this part of the body we have one set of nerves which 'picks up' intuitively and the other set which is related to our 'everyday' worries.

YELLOW is the colour of tomorrow. This is a colour which is happy with adventure and change without emotional involvement.

YELLOW is the colour of sunshine - our Sun - and the centre of our being (the Solar Plexus chakra).

YELLOW relates to all forms of will and intellect depending on the lightness or depth, or inclusion of another colour, e.g. gold relates to strong, masculine will. Lemon is intellect for the sake of intellect.

YELLOW is DISCENTRIC - it radiates out - like the Sun - touching light on everything but staying nowhere. People who love yellow are always interested in a wide range of subjects, loving to touch on them and discuss many ideas - without the emotional involvement of Blue people or the drive and idealism of Red people.

YELLOW is connected with our digestive system and the skin. It is an excellent colour to wear or look at if you have problems in those areas. Because it also connects with the two sets of nerves in the 'will power' area of the body, yellow is needed if the will power is not being used or not being accepted. People who dislike Yellow don't like change and adventure, they also don't like to use their own will power in many areas of their life.

YELLOW is the first colour to be picked up by the cones of the eyes. Therefore yellow raincoats, yellow signs stand out more clearly than any other colour.

Most people are farsighted after 35-40 years of age and need more yellow lighting to see better. Therefore incandescent lighting is more suitable than white florescent lighting.

YELLOW like white has great powers of reflection therefore it is a very suitable colour in hot weather.

YELLOW helps us to perform more quickly and creates an 'awakened' state therefore it is good to have in rooms (such as kitchens) where there is a need to get going in the morning. Yellow creates a 'forward' motion in our thinking.

YELLOW represents the continuing striving for another object but it is not possessive, it is the search and hoping for something new to come to pass and the willingness to 'get away' but also eager to encounter new situations in the hope of learning from them.

YELLOW is the ancient symbol of the Sun, and the ancient longing of mankind to fly.
