Esoteric Day Dreaming >>

December
Wed 4 : Jupiter Retrograde :
This period points to a need to examine our urge for self-awareness and greater prestige. It shows a time when care must be taken not to epand without forethought as to the consequences of such expansion (all year). To read more on the retrograde of this planet, click here.

Wed 4 : New Moon : The Moon in Sagittarius brings a time of adventure seeking and spontaneity. People may feel more adventurous, friendly, and fun-loving. It is a good time for exploring interests and ideas and for broadening the mind. Like the Archer that represents Sagittarius, people may have an inclination toward seeking out truth and higher meaning and following intuition, as well as flights of fancy. While the desire for freedom will be strong, people may want to do what they want, when they want, and be impulsive and independent. These inclinations can cause restlessness and a strong need for freedom.

Wed 4 : Total Solar Eclipse : The total solar eclipse lasts no more that 2 minutes 4 seconds from any location along its entire path.

From start to finish, the penumbra takes a little over five hours to sweep across the Earth. The umbra takes just over three hours to travel from the South Atlantic, through southern Africa and the Indian Ocean before leaving the Earth's surface in southern Australia.

Fri 20 : Full Moon : Strong Wind Moon SH : Long Nights Moon NH (Moon in Gemini)
[SH=Southern Hemisphere, NH=Northern Hemisphere]

Strong Wind Moon : This month lets us turn to the oceans, lakes, and streams for our inspiration to cast a spell for peace and happiness. Decorate your sacred space with a pale blue cloth and a pair of gold candles. Light the candles and invoke Aphrodite, foam-born Goddess of the Sea. Now take a glass gallor jar and spread a layer of blue aquarium gravel in the bottom. Atop the gravel, layer quartz crystals, silver beads, and seashells of varying sizes. Fill the jar with water, and tint it a pale aqua. Cap the jar tightly. Focus on peace and happiness filling your life, and say:

"Ocean Mother, Father Sun, let my will now be done To this spell bring joy and love, roses wild, gentle doves. Aphrodite smile down on me, as I will so mote it be."

Set the jar out under the morning sunlight and leave to collect the rays of brilliant light from this, the most joyous of months. Affirmation for the Strong Sun Moon: My live reflects the joy in my heart.

Long Nights Moon : We have entered the holiday season. Tension builds this time of year, so we focus our ritual on releasing stress. Buy a bottle of your favorite bubble bath (this applies to you men, too). Cast a circle in your bathroom; light candles. Fill your tub with warm water and add a generous amount of bubble bath. As you remove each piece of clothing, shed one more worry from the daily world. When you are naked, step into the foaming bubbles. As the water leaches tensions from your body, lean back and close your eyes. Imagine yourself drifting in a tropical sea, with the Sun gently beating on your face. Slide into the ocean, as tension is carried away. Sense the life that pulses around you, in the waves and under the glassine surface, and yet, none of this activity interferes with your peace. Give up the worry that permeates your days to the water mother. When you leave the bath, take a cool rejuvenating shower. Affirmation for the Long Nights Moon: I remain serene in the face of the chaos around me.

Moon in Gemini : You have a need to continually express your feelings. You are quick to arrive at a logical solution for any emotional problem - and will jump right in to provide a helpful opinion. Your feelings may switch on you. You see the various aspects of a situation, and bend and adjust to others. This could make you appear fickle or two-sided, but it is really the sign of an open mind. You nurture others by staying in friendly communication. You need to relate to your mother as a friend and keep in regular contact.

Sun 22 : Sun in Capricorn : When the Sun is in Capricorn, we prepare for the worst, expecting the best. The Capricorn's symbol, that strong-willed Sea Goat, climbs up from the sea and scales the steepest peaks to reach the high goals they set for themselves. Their cautious, confident steps usually get them to the summit. Capricorn's Earth Sign energy is a time of self-control, persistence, patience. Ruled by Saturn, Planet of Karma, Capricorn's Sun transit can be frustrating.

On the bright side, this influence allows us an ambition and clarity of purpose coupled with a respect for others. While it can be an egotistical energy, it's not devious at all. Common sense governs decisions made under this influence. Rather than being spontaneous, Capricorn takes itself and its life seriously, believing that it makes more sense to do things well the first time. Though gifted with a good sense of history and perspective, once it starts climbing, Capricorn doesn't look back.

A good time for:
Making thorny decisions
Playing strategic games, like chess
Paying attention to your social status

Sun 22 : Summer SH / Winter NH Solstice : Summer Solstice, sometimes known as Midsummer, Litha, or St. John's Day, occurs in the middle of June (NH) or December (SH). It is a celebration of the longest day of the year and the beginning of Summer.

It has been a grand tribal gathering time since ancient times. The Goddess manifests as Mother Earth and the God as the Sun King. Colors are Yellow, Green, and Blue. It is a festival of community sharing and planetary service.

Wed 25 : Christmas Day

Tues 31: New Years Eve

Crystal Focus >>
Each month we focus on a different crystal to help you become acquainted with their elements and how they can help you.

Phantom Quartz

The phantom crystal is recognised by a "phantom" crystal within the crystal. The phantom is comprised of a white or coloured mineral and may be partial or complete. In some cases if forms a mist formation or that of a crystal tree. The phantoms within a crystal provide an indication of the experiences, and the transformations, which the crystal has encounted during its evolution. The phantom crystal has experienced numerous lifetimes, of learning and "being", while continuing in the same physical configuration; the crystal represents the many phases and the many types of life which may be experienced during ones lifetime.

The crystal symbolises universal awareness. It is one of the Earth stones to be used for redemption and cleansing of the Earth. The energy of the phantom works to bring together the partipants of humanity to save the planet. The structure within the crystal exhibits triangular and pyramidal formations emanate the energy to save, to renew and to facilitate the spiritual health of the Earth. The phantom allows the Earth to recall how it was prior to the initiation of destruction; hence, allowing for smoothness in Earth changes during the corrective processes.

It is an excellent tool for meditation and for assisting one in connecting with the higher realms of knowledge. It can also be used to access the records of ones progression through past-lives.

One procedure for accessing past-lives is as follows:

Sit quietly, initiate circular breathing, relax and attune to the crystal
Gaze within the phantom portion of the crystal
Close the eyes and allow the after-image [or the image produced] to travel to the inner mind or to the area of the third-eye; and,
Allow the mind to travel through the personal memories and to track the history of the soul back to the creation.

Astological Sign: All
