Inner and Outer You >>

What makes you happy? What gives you well being? Seeing friends, a nice meal or relaxing with a good book? It is important to treat ourselves and keep the happy vibe active. Being happy requires nurturing the inner and outer you. There are always areas that we neglect and some we never thought would bring well being.

Here are a few areas to consider. Some you may nurture regularly, some you may neglect, and some you may not have thought of before.

The Inner You ~

Conscience: "the sense of right and wrong as regard to one's actions and motives" Macquarie Dictionary. Do you listen to that inner voice that advises you of the results of your actions? Or do you think of it as that nagging voice that interferes? How many times have you gone to do something, when that voice pops up to stop you form doing what you WANT to do? How many times has the advice been right? Experiment with this idea. Consciously consult your inner voice prior to taking action on your desires. In listening to your inner self you will find results best suited to you.

Mind: Do you hold onto outmoded trains of thought. Ideas that were relevant before but now you have out grown? Do you play out control dramas out of habit? We spring cleaning our house so why not our mind. Question what qualities these habits give you, why you are holding on to them, what comfort they give you. Find new ways of satisfying that need.

Learning: Learning helps us to understand the past, find out how things work, gives us something to share with others, improves our ability to work with others and interact, gives us a knowledge base to draw upon, stimulates creativity and generally builds confidence in ourselves. It propels us into a new level of progress. Learning can take different forms. You learn from talking to people, observing people and situations, taking a class, joining a group, reading a book, going to see a play. It is important to continually learn new things everyday.

Eating: Eating stimulates through vitamins, minerals, colours, textures, taste, smells and memories. We gain energy from vitamins and minerals, variety through texture, taste and smells. The memory of eating a particular dish at a particular time invokes memories, whether good or bad, it can also make the meal even better than it really is or horrible. You may not realise but the food you eat gives insight through colour. This is also the same through the clothes we wear, pictures we see and the surroundings we are in. For example, if you need a bit of love, eat something pink; for passion ,eat something red; for prosperity and growth, eat something green; for creative thought, eat something yellow and for encouraging, welcome thoughts, eat something orange.

The Outer You ~

Physique: Exercising helps us to feel strong in our muscles, which leads us to believe we can walk tall, have enough fitness to get us through what we normally do and get through unexpected requirements. By not keeping up a level of fitness we are haltered from doing things we may like to do, like going for a bush walk or playing with our children. This can lead to feelings of inadequacy. It only requires 30 minutes, three times a week. Group fitness also enhances our interaction with others.

Teeth: Some of the effects of metal fillings are irritability, nervousness, fits of anger, memory loss, lack of attention, depression, low self confidence, anxiety, drowsiness, shyness/timidity, decline of intellect, insomnia, and low self control. Amalgam fillings are not made of metal and therefore do not give off these effects. They also look better :)

Skin: Irritants such as soap and detergent remove oils from between the skin cells. This results in a loss of water which makes them shrink, opening up cracks in the skin barrier. This broken skin barrier allows the penetration of allergens and more irritants. Looking after your skin involves cleaning, moisturising, keeping hydrated by drinking water, massage, protection from the sun and having checks performed for deformed moles and spots. Your skin is one of the external properties people notice about you instantly. Keeping it healthy means you project a well balanced being.

Hair: When cleaning away dirt and grime from your hair you are also removing feelings of the day and other people's emotions that latch onto us. Cleaning and nurturing our hair also keeps our scalp healthy.

Massage: Massaging our skin, muscles, head and whole body kneads away built in tensions. Things we hold onto and don't deal with. In releasing these attachments we make way for new experiences, we give ourselves space to learn in hindsight from previous experiences. We grow because there is space to grow into.

Spring cleaning your environment: This includes your house and workspace. Why do we clean/spring clean the lounge room so much? This is where we release the emotions, thoughts and experiences of the day, from ourselves and other people. Sure, we also clean this space because it's where physical clutter arises but think of all the emotions we dump here. Great cleansing tools include polishing all wooden surfaces with lemon oil or using a sage smudge stick in spaces that collect lots of emotions and memories.

When you feel bad, you are out of balance. Do an inner and outer check. Start with the inner as this can help you understand the outer. Inner concerns can result in outer problems. For example scattered attention can lead to abrasions of the skin, lack of mental activity can lead to low energy levels or refusal to release guilt and blame can lead to bladder problems.

In nurturing yourself inside and out you will give yourself strength and confidence to take on the activities in life you really want to do. Life is very busy but if we focus on one area each week and set small goals we will accomplish results. Before you know it you will have well being and room to explore more of life.

Labradorite

It is said to represent the "temple of the stars", assisting one in sustaining and maintaining, while providing for the understanding of the destiny one has chosen. It brings the light of the other planetary beings to the soul of the user. The labradorescence is a luminescence, derived from extra-terrestrial origin, which is enclosed in the mineral to bring the galactic evolved energies form other worlds to the Earth plane.
