Esoteric Day Dreaming >>

October
Sun 6 : New Moon
Fri 11 : Venus retrograde :
We re-examine and reassess our relationships, values and finances. Difficulties arise around personal relationships and appreciations of life (till 21 Nov)

Fri 11 : Saturn retrograde : A time to re-examine foundations to be sure they are solid enough for future growth and development. Have we assumed the right responsibilities in life? (all year)

Mon 21 : Full Moon : Wind Moon SH : Blood Moon NH (Moon in Aries)
[SH=Southern Hemisphere, NH=Northern Hemisphere]

Wind Moon : The Wind Moon is a good time to let the fresh breezes blow through to remove stagnation. For the Full Moon, make a list of things that have been cluttering your life on an emotional or psychic level. Decorate your altar with a white cloth, fresh flowers, and a bottle of sparkling water. Also have handy either wind chimes or a beautiful-sounding bell. Light a lavender coloured candle. Invoke a god or goddess of the sky. One by one, read aloud each item from your list, and imagine what it would feel like to be rid of it. Close your eyes, and imagine the wind sweeping through to carry it away. Ring the bell three times and say: "End to clutter, end to strife, remove stagnation from my life. Tinkling breeze blow through my rite, bring clarity and brilliant light."
Then take a sip of the sparkling water. Proceed through your list, and when you are finished, burn the list and cast the ashes to the winds. Affirmation for the Wind Moon: My path is clear, free from obstacles.

Blood Moon : In preparation for the winter, for the introspective time of the year, we seek to clean out the old. This month, we focus on cleansing out work spaces for the darker days to come. Our first step is to collect all old work and discard them in a proper manner. Then thoroughly clean all of your tools (while you're at it, dust and organize the rest of your living space too), and clean your work space. Smudge the space with sage or cedar. After you have done this, light a stick of frankincense, invoke those gods and goddesses with whom you share your life. Allow the energy to settle around you as you focus on the coming months. We are entering the time of thought, of cerebral activity. For some, school awaits. For others, the winter months are those spent cooped up inside due to inclement weather. Now is a good time to take stock of your goals and to plan ahead for the approaching winter. What do you want to accomplish? Affirmation for the Blood Moon: My mind is alert, I observe with keen insight.

Moon in Aries : Your emotions are right on the surface and immediately expressed. You have a tendency to take charge in emotional situations, leading the way to resolving difficult problems. You are highly intuitive regarding emotional matters. You nurture others by encouraging their independence. You need a relationship with your mother that is characterized by independence, discovery and high energy.

Thur 24 : Sun in Scorpio : When the Sun is in Scorpio, think of the old saying about still waters running deep when you think of this passionate Water Sign. The mood will be intense -- and that mood hangs over everything from careers to cuddling -- but it is a smouldering, devious sort of intense. A slow burn. While the Sun visits this Sign, anticipate probing gazes and profound concentration. Scorpio wants nothing more than for us to be passionately engaged in activities that are significant and meaningful to us. No boredom is allowed, no busy or slog work (save that for Virgo or Taurus times) -- this is when you get to the heart of matters, when you find out what's behind masks, what lies beneath motivations. Careful to direct your energies, though, because if boredom does strike, talents are wasted and negative emotions come to the fore. Passions will be high, and physical love becomes engrossing, exciting, forceful and possessive. Watch for jealousy and vengeful whims. Scorpio stings when threatened.
A good time for:
Solving riddles and mysteries, delving into scientific issues
Profoundly investigating topics that interest you
Exploring sexual pleasure

Crystal Focus >>
Each month we are going to focus on a different crystal to help you become acquainted with their elements and how they can help you.

Serandite

Serandite is a hydrous silicate of manganese, calcium and sodium which crystallises in the formation of elongated crystals and in masses. The colour ranges from rose to red.

This mineral can be used to bring tolerance to dispel jealousy. It serves to allay discontent and frustration and to alleviate envy and vengefulness. It assists one understanding the reason for misunderstanding and to reduce super-sensitivity.

It has been used to facilitate the definition of goals, providing a balance between the emotional and intellectual bodies such that one can contemplate the higher goals of ones path.

Serandite furthers appreciation of others and instils conscientiousness and total involvement in that which one selects. It acts to promote a living exchange of energies between one and another such that communion is acknowledged and isolation is eliminated. It is an excellent mineral for use during initial contacts with a person or an object.

This mineral has been used to enhance the assimilation of manganese and calcium, and to equilibrate the amount of sodium within the body.
