"Now this was my first carving. It has taken about 120 hours. I'm still unsure of the name of the word but I assure you that it is a hardwood. With this piece I fell in total awe of the possibilities of wood.

Some may say that I'm mad, but the wood really talks to me and with the snake it screamed. I found the staff with a natural 1 1/2 twist and so I went from there. The beauty of it is, after I showed my teacher what I wanted to do he ignored me for about 6 weeks (2 hours per week). Later telling me that if he had helped me, shown me what to do, it would cease to be my piece. Thank you Peter!!

The staff is also an Albino Snake with moonstone eyes, wrapt around a shard of Green Obsidian.. well that's the idea." Wombat
